Triple Chocolate Scones Bread Recipe

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 oz cream cheese (cold)
  • 1/4 cup butter (cold)
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup chocolate chips

Icing Drizzle:

  • 1 cup powder sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon water

Method

  1. Pour the whipping cream into a bowl. Add in the egg and the vanilla. Using a wire whisk beat the mixture together till well blended. In a separate bowl combine the flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder and the salt. Using a wire whisk mix all the dried ingredients together. 
  2. Add in the cold cream cheese and the cold butter. Using your fingers mix the butter and cheese breaking it up till it becomes the size of small peas. 
  3. Add in the chocolate chips and mix. Add in the mixed liquid and stir till just combined. Pour out onto a flat surface and knead a few time. Do not over knead. Shape into a rectangle 6x8. Cut into 8 pieces and place onto a parchment lined cookie sheet. 
  4. Bake in a preheated 375F oven for 18-20 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack. 
  5. To make the icing, combine the powder sugar, cocoa and water, mix with a fork and drizzle over the Chocolate scones after they have cooled.
